Lenses for Prisms
Lens designs for use with prisms must take into account the thickness and index of refraction of the prism and any additional optical materials between the lens and sensor. Failure to consider the glass effects results in excessive chromatic aberration and even magnification differences among the channels. Optec supplies a selection of lenses intended for use with prisms in both visible and near infrared.

Lenses for Visible-NIR Prisms
In these lenses Optec extended the apochromatic correction of the RGB lens families out to 950 nm so they may be used across the entire response band of silicon detectors. They are suitable for us with 2, 3 and 4-channel prisms up to the maximum rated glass thickness.


Type 3795 – 42 mm, f/2.8
  • Corrected for 430-950 nm
  • 78 mm prism air equivalent
  • 43 mm image diameter
  • <5 µm chromatic aberration
  • 80% transmission, A/R coated for <0.4%
  • 54 degree FOV, infinity focus
  • Distortion <10%, Vignetting <30%
  • Modulation minimum 60% at 40 lp/mm
  • Motorized focus and iris available

Type B9810 – 30 mm, f/2
  • Corrected for 430-950 nm
  • 50 mm prism air equivalent
  • 14.5 mm image diameter
  • <5 µm chromatic aberration
  • 80% transmission, A/R coated for <0.5%
  • 28 degree FOV, 180 mm working distance
  • Distortion <2%, Vignetting <10%
  • Modulation minimum 80% at 40 lp/mm
  • Motorized focus and iris available
