CMOS SENSORS CMOS Sensor

CMOS Sensor Inc. was founded in Silicon Valley in 1997 as a fabless design house for CMOS image sensor chips for faxes, copiers and document scanners.  In support of the scanner chips, CMOS Sensor also designs integrated circuits for interfacing, control and digital conversion.

CMOS sensor provides these sensors at various levels of integration to match the capabilities and requirements of a broad range of scanner customers.  For customers building their own scanners, CMOS Sensor provides tested sensor die in wafer form.  These same die are also provided in single packages to facilitate engineering evaluation.  For customers designing equipment, CMOS Sensor provides a large selection of contact image sensor (CIS) modules at various resolutions and speeds from 50 to 300 mm in length, packaged with a broad range of LED illuminators.

CMOS sensor also undertakes custom design programs, having recently produced a very-high-resolution line scanner and a high-performance area image sensor for a space application.

CMOS Sensor
Industrial Scanner

CMOS Sensor has now designed a line scanner specifically tailored to the requirements of industrial line scanning.  This new scanner incorporates 600 dpi sensor chips forming a continuous linear array up to three meters long.  The CMOS Sensor high-precision butting technique produces inter-chip gaps of less than one pixel to minimize data loss and maximize image uniformity.

The new model M206-500M scanner features a rugged one-piece aluminum housing, a 14 mm standoff distance, a field-replaceable protective window and a CameraLink interface.  Scanning in excess of 20,000 lines per second is supported and because the CMOS Sensor chips include electronic shuttering, any line light source may be used.

The scanner supports an extensive set of controls through the CameraLink interface to permit exposure control, performance monitoring, trigger mode control and gain balancing when multiple light sources are used.  Full configuration and application information is available by request through our Inquiry page.
