| Alternative Vision Corporation (AVC)
was founded in 2002 as a joint venture between Pacific
Photonics, Inc of Los Altos, California, and HanVision Company,
Ltd., of the Republic of Korea, to distribute Foveon X3® image
sensors to low-volume customers worldwide. Immediately on its
founding, AVC was certified by Foveon as its VAR for
smaller-volume customers. AVC also became the distributor for
HanVision cameras including models using Foveon sensor.
Starting at the end of 2004, AVC
began adding product lines, first Optec S.p.A. and since then
five more, each selected for its value and unique position in
the optoelectronic and imaging marketplace. AVC sells these
products through a network of independent manufacturers’
representatives around the world.
AVC, currently a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Pacific Photonics and now located in Tucson,
Arizona, is managed by David Gilblom, President and CEO. |
